How to kill time!

I cannot believe summer holidays are ending! I survived two months of doing nothing really important without succumbing to boredom! Before the holidays I was all set to spend my time doing the part time job that I had got but unfortunately my college did not give me a no objection certificate in the last minute!
I was obviously not to happy but then instead I planned on going with my brother to Singapore! I was all excited about the trip but as fate would have it I had bungled with my passport(yes I can be very clumsy at times)number and my brother is vacationing without me(he is in Malaysia now)!
I was like "how am I going to spend my holidays????" but tell you people if you want to kill time Strategy games are the perfect answer!
I had not played PC games for almost 4-5 years but suddenly I got obsessed with playing games like Age of empires, age of titans! These games are just awesome time pass! not that I am 24*7 glued to them but time flies by playing them. There are a lot of such games with great graphics but I prefer the good old AOE because the other games are too much for a basic player like me :D
I do not play Lord of the rings but since my brother does its a great game too. So if you have a lot of free time in hand get a strategy game from your nearest CD store start with the tutorial and before you know it will be time to get busy again!

Francophone

In my twelfth standard my first chapter(In English CBSE) was how the french people were affected when Alsace and Loraine was added to the German empire and they were imposed with German as their language. It was the first time I had read that French was the most beautiful language in the world. Back then I had no clue that this beautiful language is going to drive me crazy! I had no second language in my 11th and 12th and never imagined that I would have a second language again, yet I did,French happens to be the second language in my degree!
While some of my classmates get 98,96 and 97 in french,I am always crying before my french exam that I do not know anything but somehow scrape through. Well to be frank I am always sleeping in my french class! I do love the words but I do not find french easy. Off-course it could be a mental block because I wanted to take Hindi as my second language and am always reminding my friends(who have Hindi as their 2nd language) how lucky they are. I had signed up for a language exchange in the beginning of my holidays. Quite some french people would add me for a chat to learn English and the first thing I would say is "Je ne sais pas Francais"(I do not know french) and the next thing they would do is exit the chat!(Its obvious is it not, I don't know french they don't know English, how on earth can we learn anything?.. you need to have a common language too)
Finally there was this guy who just wanted to practice English and not learn it so I helped him practice and in my turn just learnt a few phrases & confirmed a few absurd things my Sir had told about the French people. According to my sir the french can talk on anything you ask them to, they could write pages and pages on something like a pencil! (and I struggle here to think of what I should write in my blog!). The french guy said he was not sure of it. And then another interesting thing about the french popped up in mind(according to my french sir off-course): the men and women don't get along well, (french women prefer dogs). He said he was not sure that it applied to everybody and then after a pause added his ex-girlfriend was English. After sometime he added he prefers foreign women(gotcha!). Then he went back to asking me what more phrases would I like to know. I said him I would rather help him practice English(yes I gave up on language exchange after that, I bought a book to learn french which lies almost untouched). I also let him know that according to me French is very tough! He assured me it was very easy.

The French say french is easy just like the Greek would say Greek is easy.
(I am not going to bunk or sleep through French classes anymore.. I am gonna [try]study)

Au revoir!

Another Day

Know what? Monday mornings are as good as Sundays when you do not have any real work to bother yourself with. From the past three days I had wanted to get up early on a sudden whim of wanting to go for morning walks, which has been very unsuccessful! Well I still weigh the same (two moths of laze didn't add an ounce *yippee!*) so I am cool with it.
People have become so health conscious these days, some to the extent of obsessive that it is crazy. Well the point is to stay away from health problems when you get old, but I do not want to be old! I might change my mind later but for now I want to live no more than fifty years. Anyway aren't a lot of people talking about the 2012 apocalypse? The world is supposed to be coming to an end in another three years or as some other theories suggest we are heading to an Ice Age.... either case, I am not gonna survive. But hey lets hope its all not true, and we do not have to die in just next three years.
All this reminds me of something a classmate of mine back in school had written in the front page of her notebook: 'I want to die young so that I can leave a good looking corpse behind'. I wanted to tell her for that she had to be good looking in the first place. But I did not, it was none of my business, she could write whatever she wanted.
To all those people with drop dead gorgeous looks: Die young to leave a beautiful corpse behind(maybe Hades would take pity and not let you in hell) and to the rest of us:(ranging from good looking- mediocre-hideous) Die young to leave all the ugliness of life behind
.

My first blog

I have been very busy in my two months of holidays. I have been eating, sleeping, playing games on the Pc, watching tv and been sleeping again. If you are a nineteen year old, and all you have been doing is all that I have just mentioned, it equals to a solid waste of sixty days*twenty four hours!(okay 53 days, I still have a week till college starts). I love my semester system, I do not have anything to study!
By the way I am completely alien to this blogging concept and when I have just a few more days to go till I become really busy again, I finally decide that I should be blogging too. Why should I leave myself out from what has gripped all the tech savvy people? At least I can say that I started blogging in my holidays to my friends(maybe I will leave the fact that it was in the last few days). I do agree I am the laziest person on earth, but I did look up the newspapers for summer jobs, and I did not really feel like doing any. All those people out there my age are doing things like DJ'ing, writing for newspapers, acting in commercials, going for workshops, earning cool bucks, but hey I love it the way I am. All the money in the world cannot buy joy honey!
cheers!
